Auburn University Signs 8-Year Extension
with the Collegiate Licensing Company
ATLANTA, GA (March 28, 2016) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced an eight-year extension of its global partnership with Auburn University to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. Since CLC began partnering with Auburn in 1981, the University’s licensing program has generated more than $52 million in licensing royalties.

Officially-licensed Auburn product is now sold by more than 6,645 retailers across the country. As a result of their expanded retail presence, royalties for the University have increased 65% since FY 2010-11. Auburn has achieved greater in-store distribution and total sales in part through its participation in CLC’s exclusive national retail marketing platforms, including College Colors Day, Rock Your Colors and Holiday Cheer Section.

Auburn is ranked 9th overall among CLC partner institutions in wholesale revenues in 2014-15. Licensing program revenue is up +22% from the previous fiscal year.
Revenue from the sale of Auburn University licensed products supports student scholarships.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., signed or extended its licensing agreements with more than 50 partner institutions in 2015. CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including 30 bowl games, the NCAA and the College Football Playoff.
