BYU EXTENDS LICENSING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COLLEGIATE LICENSING COMPANY
ATLANTA, GA (December 15, 2015) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced a 10-year extension of its global partnership with Brigham Young University (BYU) to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. CLC began partnering with BYU in 1981.
"Brigham Young University is pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with CLC,” said Adam Parker, Manager of Licensing and Trademarks. "We believe CLC has a unique ability to help us expand the brand of BYU, and stay true to the principles and values that exemplify our university. We are excited to grow our retail and online market presence throughout the world, and with CLC’s help, we are confident that will happen."
Officially-licensed product for BYU is now sold at more than 883 retail locations, an increase of more the 100% since 2013. BYU has achieved greater in-store distribution by participating in CLC’s exclusive national retail marketing platforms, including College Colors Day, Rock Your Colors and Holiday Cheer Section.
“BYU has been a leader in the licensing industry, and CLC is extremely excited to continue our long-lasting partnership with one of our first partner institutions,” said Denise Lamb, Vice President, CLC. “BYU has been extremely dedicated in continuing to invest in its licensing program, and CLC is honored to work with a partner that deeply engages CLC’s resources.”
Revenue from the sale of BYU licensed products supports both academics, through scholarships, and athletics.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., signed or extended its licensing agreements with more than 50 partner institutions in 2015. CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including 30 bowl games, the NCAA and the College Football Playoff.
