Collegiate Licensing Company Extends Partnership with Operation Hat Trick
ATLANTA, GA (March 9, 2016) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced a multi-year extension of its national partnership with Operation Hat Trick (OHT) to continue managing the brand’s successful trademark licensing program. OHT is an organization dedicated to providing support, awareness and funding for America’s wounded service men and women and veterans.
Since its inception as a local, school-specific program created at the University of New Hampshire to distribute free hats, OHT has worked with CLC to grow the program to its current status as the largest collegiate philanthropic co-branded program ever built. More than 480 retailers currently carry OHT products across more than 1,200 retail doors throughout the country. Currently, more than 270 universities participate in the program, as well as Minor League Baseball, select NHL teams, and NASCAR.
"CLC took a leap of faith in working with OHT when we had no licensees, no distribution, and no sales and deserves to be recognized for the good the program is doing today for the military men, women, and families that we work to support," said Dot Sheehan, Founder and President of OHT. "CLC's strategic guidance played a major role in the program's wildly successful trajectory of growth, and we are thrilled to be renewing our partnership."
OHT generated an estimated $2.4 million in retail sales in fiscal year 2015, working with six licensees-‘47 Brand, which is the exclusive headwear partner, as well as The Mountain, WinCraft, Victory Tailgate, Sleefs, and Bani Bands.
"Operation Hat Trick has always been a passion project for CLC," said Brian C. White, CLC's Vice President of Regional Brands Marketing. "We have led, or have been a part of, many efforts that have benefited the collegiate licensing industry, but our work on OHT has been, and will continue to be, one of the most rewarding and one that truly impacts the people it serves."
