ATLANTA, Georgia., (July 2, 2012) – Virginia Tech, which has been a multimedia rights partner of IMG College since 1994, today announced it has selected the company’s licensing division, The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), to manage its domestic trademark licensing program effective July 1, 2012.
The new agreement will provide Virginia Tech a greater ability to protect, manage and develop its brand through a comprehensive trademark licensing program customized by CLC, which currently represents nearly 200 collegiate properties.

Royalties generated from the sale of Virginia Tech licensed merchandise provide support for various scholarship programs and student services.
Through its current multimedia rights partnership with the University, IMG College will also have the ability to uniquely and collectively market licensing and multimedia rights for both licensees and sponsors of Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech joins Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) member institutions Boston College, Clemson University, Duke University, Florida State University, Georgia Tech, University of Maryland, University of Miami, The University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, and Wake Forest University to become the 11th ACC institution represented by CLC.
