University of Virginia Selects CLC as its Trademark Licensing Agency
Atlanta, Ga (July 9, 2019) – The University of Virginia today announced it has entered into a partnership with CLC to serve as the University’s exclusive trademark licensing agent effective July 1, 2019.
This new partnership will provide UVA’s licensing program access to CLC’s industry-leading systems, retail intelligence, and data to expand its presence with key retailers, and engage its consumers through a range of marketing programs.
“We believe CLC’s data and research can help us better understand our consumer base as we work to deliver unique product and brand engagement programs to meet the needs of our passionate fans,” said Todd Goodale, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, who oversees UVA’s trademark licensing program. “The CLC team will also reinforce our collaborative approach to licensing by seeking best-in-class companies and strategies to help us meet our goals, including creating opportunitites for the University’s brand to be more visible in the retail marketplace.”
CLC will work with UVA to develop its brand licensing strategies to ensure long-term value of the UVA brand. CLC will also help UVA expand its brand family, including developing new lines of merchandise and artwork

UVA joins 12 other Atlantic Coast Conference institutions and the Conference office itself that are currently represented by CLC to help manage their trademark licening rights.
