Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and Licensing Partners International Partner on Licensed Merchandise

ATLANTA, GA and KNOXVILLE, TN (April 5, 2023) – At a time when interest in women’s basketball is at an all-time high, the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame has entered into an exclusive agreement with Licensing Partners International to manage its product licensing program, which will include implementing new merchandise and retail strategies.

LPI will work with the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame to enhance its product offering by identifying best-in-class licensees that will help elevate the brand with consumers and basketball fans. In addition to its current onsite and online retail operations, LPI will also work with key licensing partners to develop a Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame branded store on Amazon to expand access to merchandise.

“The Hall of Fame works to celebrate the legends and milestones that have made women’s basketball what it is today, as well as connect to current and future basketball fans, and our merchandise program is a key component in our strategy,” said Dana Hart, President of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. “We are excited to partner with LPI to extend our reach and provide additional products and programs for fans to be a part of the growth we are seeing in women’s basketball across the world.”

The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, which was established in 1999 in Knoxville, Tennessee, is the only facility of its kind dedicated to all levels of women’s basketball with a mission to honor the past, celebrate the present and promote the future of women’s basketball. There are currently 187 members of the Hall of Fame, with the 23rd class scheduled for induction on April 29, 2023.

In addition to new licensee and retail strategies, LPI will also collaborate with the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and inductees to develop a group licensing program to include some women’s basketball legends in merchandise collections.

“The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame offers licensees a unique opportunity to leverage the history and icons of the sport for merchandising purposes,” said Bruce Fletcher, Director of LPI. “We look forward to this new partnership and helping the Hall of Fame maximize the excitement for women’s basketball by delivering unique product opportunities to fans.”
